Healing Hypothyroidism - Week 2 Day 1

I'm overall feeling better and optimistic about turning my health around. I have noticed over the past week improvements in the joint/arthritic pain in my hands, wrist and foot along with the right leg numbness.

The stiffness & pain in my foot is unlike any other symptom I've ever had before. It can go from excruciating pain one minute, to barely any pain if I get up and walk around for a few minutes.

I find this extremely confusing!

I didn't feel like eating 3 times, all the liquid keeps me pretty full, so I started with my green smoothie around 11am and had a salad for an early dinner at 5pm.

I purchased a kitchen appliance to make home make plant based milks rather than making them in the blender and straining myself. The Planty Milk has been amazing, and makes the green smoothies taste much better! I will do a separate blog entry just on this wonderful appliance!

Todays daily log:

  • Water: 3 litres of water
  • Breakfast/Lunch: 2 litres green smoothie w/almond milk (home-made), 75% greens (6 cups), 25% fruit & fats (1/4 cup flax seeds)
  • Dinner: salad with 6 cups lettuce, olives, red onion, baby tomatoes, avocado, dressing (1 tbsp olive oil, 4 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 1/4 tsp mustard, 1 clove garlic)
  • Activity: 1 hour walk
  • Symptoms:  Safe to say the pain and tightness in my hands and right wrist are no longer an issue. The right foot is still acting up but is still better than it was on day 1 of starting this protocol. My scalp (psoriasis) is feeling a bit better, so less itchy which is a really good sign and the eczema (legs & elbows) also appears to be calming down a bit. Energy wise, I still feel quite tired, not super drained but low energy.  My belly doesn't get as bloated after meals as it previously did, but too early to tell if there's any change in weight & body fat. My cough still persists, no real change there since starting. Pelvic floor issue is acting up a bit, not a major flareup though, so I'm still able to sleep without too much disturbance.
